About My Writing Journey
About me
My passion for writing began in elementary school when my beloved first grade teacher praised and displayed my story about the school's playground. I illustrated the cover with stick figures who ran, fell, slid on the sliding board, and laughed on the teeter-totter. My story wasn't Bronte quality but seeing it stapled on the front bulletin board of the classroom sparked my confidence as a writer.
Many years later, attending the Asheville Christian Writers Conference fired up my vision for a career as an author. The speakers inspired us to accept our God-given talent and call to write, not for ourselves, but for God's kingdom.
My joy of writing comes from sharing my thoughts and life experiences with readers through devotions, magazine articles, short stories, and presently a full-length manuscript (women's fiction) awaiting publication.
The process of writing fully engages my mind and heart, and learning the craft lasts a lifetime.
